Attached to the circular metal rail which surrounds the sanctuary are two large metal candlesticks of abstract design, which appear to guard the rear entrance to the altar. The curved designs on these candlesticks almost reflect the curve of the roof.  They were designed by the sculptor Charles Edward Sansbury along with the processional cross and the two candlesticks on the alter.
